Yarmuth, SD from KY heckled by Clinton Supporters at Dem Fundraiser

Sat May 10, 2008 at 08:45:45 AM PDT

This makes my blood boil and I hope everyone will reach out to Rep. John Yarmuth from Ky for speaking out for Obama at last night's Kentucky "Democratic" Party Fundraiser.

The article in today's Courier Journal describes the event.  http://www.courier-journal.com/...

Clinton supporter and SD Terry McBrayer made some statements against Obama, in an attempt to get a laugh.  FYI his email is tmcbrayer@mmlk.com.  It seems, to give Hillary some credit, her speech focused on party unity and McCain.  I give her kudos for that.  However SD's such as McBrayer and others should cease the attacks on Obama.

Mr. McBrayer, a lot of Kentucky Democrats are not laughing.  We are embarassed by your statements and embarrassed by those in attendance who heckled Yarmuth.

Rep. Yarmuth and Rep. Chandler of Kentucky deserve thanks from us for supporting OBama.  I know that we recently gave a lot of money to Chandler for coming forward and I know he appreciates it.

I hope we can also let Mr. McBrayer know that not all of the Democratic party agrees with him.  Given this was a "state party" fundraiser, and Hillary was the featured speaker, I can only hope that Yarmuth was prepared to be ambushed. I hope he knows we appreciate him speaking out for Obama at this "function".

HRC's supporters seem to be in a rabid mode...for the sake of party unity, I hope they can get past this type of behavior.

Also, by the way Mr. McBrayer, Obama will be in Louisville on Monday and he will tour the state on Tuesday.  The Lexington Herald Leader has full details. LINK: http://polwatchers.typepad.com/...

Obama to campaign in Kentucky Monday and Tuesday
U.S. Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois is making good on his pledge to stump personally in Kentucky by holding a rally Monday night in Louisville. He also is planning on campaigning in the Bluegrass state on Tuesday, but no details have been released yet about where or when.

So Mr. McBrayer...I would hold off on your milk carton ad.! Hillary drew approximately 1200 to Louisville last night.  Doors open at 5:00pm on Monday night...I'm guessing Obama will fill the convention hall.
